Europe has indeed pledged to increase its intake of American energy, particularly liquefied natural gas (LNG), but the path from political handshake to actual molecules flowing across the Atlantic is fraught with commercial and logistical hurdles.

For Europe, it’s about reducing reliance on historically dominant, often politically volatile, suppliers and bolstering energy security.
